The best things to donate

Every season is a wonderful season of giving if you have a kind heart.  We should give not just to our loved ones, but to the needy as well who we don’t know, who we’ll never see. When you give something to the underprivileged and marginalized people, they keep you in their prayers that always benefits you.

Moreover, for donating you don’t need to be a rich philanthropist. Anyone can donate if he or she has a kind heart. It’s an amazing feeling that gives rise to a sense of satisfaction.

And in case you are thinking about what all you can give to make the needy happy, there are many articles you can donate other than food, clothing, and money.

All you need to do is a little research in order to find the right social service organization that will accept what you want to give.

Medicines

You can donate medicines that are not of your use. They can heal someone and even give life.  For example, if you have recently recovered from COVID-19 and have surplus useful medicines at home, support initiatives that seek medicines.

Many volunteer-run organizations collect medicines in their city. Know about them and donate.

Shoes, Socks & Bags

Shoes and bags are also nice items to donate. This will benefit many people—especially school-going poor children. And instead of throwing your old socks in the garbage bin, just wash them and donate them to some orphanage. They are yet another crucial item that many people can use. And if you have school backpacks or old luggage, they can also be donated.

Kitchen Utensils

Another nice thing to give to the needy is various utensils including plates, bowls, teaspoons, tablespoons, pans, serving trays, and pots.

Many social service organizations runs free food donation drives and some even run kitchens for poor people, you can donate utensils to them to ease their work.

So, if you’re thinking about getting some new utensils, donate your old ones first!

Games & Toys

Toys and games are also great items to donate. For example, there are many poor children in our country who don’t even know about puzzle games.

If you have some at your home, donate them so that poor children also understand how to use imagination for passing time in a creative way.

You can donate your old toys to children’s hospitals, orphanages, and daycare centers.

Hygiene products

Never forget how important donating hygiene items are. They are incredibly important to different shelters, old-age homes, schools for poor children, and orphanages. If you have some such products that you don’t use but which are still fresh, donate them.

Shampoo, Deodorant, Toothpaste and toothbrush, sanitary pads, soaps, Band-Aids, and Diapers are some of the nice items worth donating.

Old Furniture, Yes, why not!

If you have small coffee tables, old beds, benches, dining tables, rocking chairs, and things like and they are in good condition, give them to some old age home, orphanages or schools.
