VISHWA JAGRITI MISSION
BAL KALYAN INITIATIVES

Poverty is the leading source of suffering in India, affecting millions of people. Deprived children, unfortunately, are one of the groups that suffer the most critically due to poverty and its consequences.

According to a UNICEF-International Labour Organization (ILO) joint report, India consists of 30.3 percent of extremely poor children living across the world. Nearly 9.97 Crores children live in poverty-stricken conditions here. It makes our country home to the greatest number of disadvantaged children on Earth. This is unfortunate.

Rural children, slum children, urban poor families, marginalised groups, tribal communities, and many other disadvantaged groups suffer from a variety of poverty-related deprivations. Malnutrition, lack of access to basic health care, child marriage (India has the world’s highest number of child brides), illiteracy, poor school attendance, lack of sanitation, and access to safe water and nutritional food are just a few of these issues.

VJM is a prominent spiritual organisation and one of India’s most trustworthy charitable societies, founded in 1991 by HH Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj. It has worked tirelessly for over three decades to improve the lives of impoverished children and support them to enjoy their childhood.

With the aid of donors, salaried staff, and volunteers from India and overseas, the organisation is striving to address challenges such as lack of education, healthcare, nutrition, and safety.

In India, VJM has established Ashrams, Primary and Secondary Schools, and Vocational Training Centers. These institutes provide free education to children in need.

Free Education

VJM’s Bal Kalyan programmes focus on providing free and high-quality education to impoverished and marginalised children.

Nutrition

All schools and Ashrams in Delhi, Surat, Faridabad, Moradabad, and Jharkhand provide free and nutritious food to each child (about 5000 children at various VJM institutions).

Child Safety

Children stay at free shelters in a safe environment without any fear and stress.

Good Health

Regular health checkup and vaccination programmes (including COVID-19 vaccines) for each child.
